Vodka dominates the market at 34% of consumption in the US among spirits drinkers [per the US Beverage Alcohol Forum], and Tito’s vodka is in the mix.

I asked Tito Beveridge, master distiller and creator of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, for some tips for tipplers on enjoying the spirit responsibly.

  1. It’s all about what you like. Tito’s favorite way to enjoy his handmade vodka is in a very simple cocktail made with Tito’s, Topo Chico, a squeeze of lime and a squeeze of orange. It’s simple, delicious, and not filled with the sugar or additives that can give you that dreaded headache.
  2. Vodka is extremely versatile, so people can really make it their own when you start with a high quality brand. If you like mango, mix Tito’s Handmade Vodka with mango nectar for your perfect summer drink.
  3. Or even better, infuse your spirit to get a custom flavor all your own. We don’t make any flavors here, preferring instead to promote infusions. It’s the best way to capture the fresh produce you find at the farmers market, or to craft that ideal pairing for a dinner party. Why rely on additives and artificial flavors when you can create your own with the very best ingredients!
  4. The best bet is to start with 1.5 oz of Tito’s Handmade Vodka and then add 3 oz of any mixer / combination of mixers of your choice. This makes for a not-too-strong cocktail that has the right balance.
  5. If you are having a group of people over, batch up a pitcher of cocktails so guests can pour their own over fresh ice, and you don’t have to stand behind the bar all day!
  6. A good garnish can be your best friend. Not only does it lend a little fresh flavor to the cocktail, but the aroma as you bring the drink up for a sip actually plays into the way you taste it.
